Election Day

What a strange day it has been. I voted today but Amy was not able to.

She woke this morning complaining of stomach cramps and a pernicious ague. Jake woke soon after. I went into his room and he too said he felt sick. Thus it was confirmed. A bug had struck the Wollny household. I too soon began to feel less than well.Jake and I got off lightly. Jake was sick once in the morning and then felt a little better. Amy seemed to take a turn for the worst. She was vomiting on and off. In between she was rushing to the toilet to expel the contents of her bowels. Not nice at all as you can imagine.

So Amy was out of action and really was unable to vote. She has been in bed most of the day and as I write this is still sleeping.

I popped out with Jake and Mia to vote. Our polling station was in an excellent location. Just a 5 minute walk from our house and located in a portacabin in Hilly Fields. When I arrived there was only a couple of other voters so it was a very casual affair. I took my peach, white and yellow ballot forms. One was for the MP for Lewisham, one for the local councillor and the other one was for the Mayor of Lewisham.

I have just switched on the TV and the usual pundits are there trying to make something out of nothing. Each channel is trying to outdo the others and quite frankly it’s all rather tiring. I will watch for a little longer then I will retire to bed. People are saying there will be a hung parliament. Let see…What will be will be.
