Amy has been enjoying her Asus Eeepc although yesterday I spied her on the old laptop. Beast! She thinks the Eeepc is a little sluggish. I guess I’ll have to upgrade the memory to 2Gb and enable the page file. That should speed it up.
When I setup the PC I moved her logon profile and Firefox cache onto the SD card so that disk writes to the SSD are kept to a minimum, so maybe this is slowing things down a little. It is only a class 4 device.
I love the machine and if Amy doesn’t start to use it soon I will nab it!(only joking). It’s great for casual use and the battery seems to go on forever. I have installed Firefox, Azureus, Peer Guardian2, Skype and Open Office as the core applications. The SSD has around 6GB and the SD card around 14Gb so there should be enough space for a while. when 32Gb class 6 Sd cards come down in price I’ll swap the old one then that one can go into Amy’s Nikon S1.
