Fathers Day

I had a lovely Fathers Day on Sunday. Amy got up when Mia woke and took her downstairs. I think it must have been around 5am, I was still in a sleepy stupor.

I carried on sleeping for a couple of hours until Amy, Jake and Mia brought me some lovely toasted bacon sandwiches to eat in bed with a nice cup of coffee. What luxury! It didn’t end there though!Jake painted a lovely picture of a rose and bought me the second Alistair Humphreys Thunder and Sunshine book. Mia bought me another cycling book(cannot get enough of them!) called The Full English. I’ve started to read it and so far it is great. Easy to read, humorous and with dashes of history here and there for good measure.

Later on we went on the DLR to Pontoon Dock and headed to Thames Barrier Park, which is on the north side of the Thames. It is a lovely little park with a nice play area and a Cafe selling good coffee. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. Across from the park there are great views of the Thames Barrier.

The weather was not brilliant, in fact it was a little chilly but we all had a great time. On the way back we hopped off at Greenwich. By this time the weather has warmed up and the sun even made an appearance. We went into Waterstones and bought Jake a couple of Mr Men books. Little Miss Twins and Mr Chatterbox.

The lovely day was topped off with a leisurely stroll though Greenwich Park. Mia was a delight during the day. She lay in her pram without any trouble and even had a nice sleep. She loved the DLR. I took her out for the ride while she looked around interested in everything she saw.
